All staff are to be trained in all areas of front of house and conferences plus general knowledge of the kitchen.

Additional cover will be required for leave, sickness cover and additional bookings such as conferences and group talk catering.

Our café seats up to 40 people plus conference up to 80 people.

The TBIC team is fairly small therefore good team working essential with flexibility and enthusiasm to help develop the business.

Experience in café employment essential

Barista experience desirable

Sandwich / deli preparation essential

Kitchen food preparation and cooking experience desirable

Food Hygiene certificate desirable

Experience with dealing with customers essential

Dealing with cash and till experience desirable

Ability to work unsupervised essential

Fluent in English – good communication skills

All staff at the Thames Barrier are expected to gain knowledge of the Thames Barrier and Environment Agency to assist public with questions.

Training will be given and uniform supplied
Thames Barrier View Café and Conference Centre is a small team that promotes and educates visitors about the Thames Barrier and Environment Agency.
We accommodate every day visitors, pre booked groups talks and conferences for visitors from all over including Japan, France, Denmark and Korea.
We have a café that offers a coffee shop services of refreshments, light lunches and gift shop, we also do in house catering for our conferences and group talks.

The Thames Barrier Information and Conference Centre has approximately 11,000 visitors a year of all ages from general public, school, college and universities and other organisations. It also receives visits from general public, tourists and groups from France, Germany and china.

Applicant must be customer focussed and help to increase business and sales.
