We value a diverse workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community wishing to join a workforce which embraces difference and welcomes everyone.

The Resource Advisor is a technical expert in workforce planning. The role will involve working with our key stakeholders to ensure current and future programmes and projects are resourced with enough people with the right skills. This will be through gathering and interrogating resource data and working alongside and supporting others in producing local resource models, and resource scenario plans and related activities.

You will also be a key member of the Integrated Delivery Team, as an expert in resourcing including your knowledge of different types of resourcing. You will need to be confident in your influencing abilities.

We're looking for a forward thinker with a keen eye for detail who works collaboratively with key stakeholders in understanding and ensuring business requirements are met.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
As Part of the Portfolio Delivery Office, our Resource Planning, Assurance & Skills team works with other teams across the Major Projects and Programme Delivery Directorate and the Integrated Delivery Hubs, helping to create a better place through our work in Portfolio, Programme and Project Management.

We support both strategic and tactical workforce planning with particular emphasis on developing the skills and capabilities of our workforce to better enable the delivery of the Portfolio.
You’ll need a degree level qualification or substantial experience in a relevant subject. You’ll have an understanding of portfolio management, and of resourcing within the P3O framework. Ideally, you’ll have experience of a similar role and working environment, although this is not essential, and knowledge of developing/implementing resource affordability or cost models would be an advantage.

You must be an effective communicator, comfortable working with a range of staff grades and within a changing work environment.

You’ll need to be competent in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with demonstrable experience of undertaking and summarising statistical analysis of multiple complex data sources would be an advantage. You must be highly numerate and enjoy working with figures to analyse and interpret data.

The following would be an advantage but not essential:
• P3O Foundation
• Managing Successful Programmes Foundation
• Management of Portfolios Foundation
• PRINCE2 Foundation or APM Project Fundamentals qualification
Benefits include generous pension provision and leave entitlement. Our flexible working supports a healthy work/life balance and offers numerous choices to accommodate the demands that personal commitments may present. Excellent training and learning opportunities are available, including personal and professional development

Base location can be flexible, with an expectation of co-locating in Hub or delivery partner offices occasionally.
