An exciting opportunity has arisen to play a leading role in Flood and Coastal Risk Management in East Anglia Area.

We are looking for an FCRM officer to work closely with internal and external partners to help deliver flood risk benefits and help communities become more resilient to flooding.

This post is fundamental in supporting and contributing to the development and delivery of the Risk Management Authority (RMA) portion of the Capital Investment Programme. This role will strengthen our resources to ensure we deliver the 336000 homes (Inc non residential) and development of the future pipeline of projects.

The post holder will often be co-located within LLFA teams to maintain strong relationships and support their programme delivery; contribute to the completion of relevant grant funding forms and provide advice on Environment Agency funding mechanisms.

This post is supported by the Advisors in the team to provide specialist advice and guidance, where required. The Post is also supported by the AFCRM and Anglian (Eastern) RFCC and is funded using Local Levy.

We will accommodate working from home but you'll be required to attend your base location on a regular basis. Base locations to include Chelmsford, Kelvedon or Ipswich.
Flood and Coastal Risk Management is the largest department at the Environment Agency. Our teams plan, design and manage flood risk improvement projects, working in partnership with communities and other organisations to protect people and property from future flood risk. We are looking for flexible and future focused individuals who can adapt to changing priorities, enjoy working with diverse customers and are keen to work in the environment and flood sector.
We are looking for someone who is motivated and passionate with good flood risk knowledge and the ability to drive forward outcomes and achieve positive results.

Individuals with a strong track record and proven experience of working with and building effective working relationships with others.

Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills and the ability to achieve successful outcomes with those with differing viewpoints is essential for this role.

The ability to understand the bigger picture and breakdown complex problems to ensure delivery of outcomes.

The ability to embrace and adapt to change and new ways of working.

A full UK driving license is essential

The Partnership and Strategic Overview (PSO) team is responsible for helping to reduce the risk of flooding to communities with the greatest need.
