We are looking for a professional individual with knowledge and experience of different industrial sectors, to be responsible for the regulation of installations under the Environmental Permitting Regulations. You will ensure permit compliance, assess operator ability to protect the environment, prevent pollution and optimise resources.

Although comprehensive technical skills are desirable, effective influencing and negotiating skills are essential to secure best practice. You will be able to deal with technical and different management levels within industry, local communities and other interested groups. You will be expected to respond to, investigate and undertake enforcement to a range of environmental incidents. You will be expected to work with some autonomy and make decisions but also engage others for support where needed.
The post will be in the Installations North team regulating sites in Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire; the predominant work area will be the highly industrialised South Humber Bank, together with the rural areas of Lincolnshire.
You will support the delivery of sector regulation and compliance work across the Area.

We are seeking a competent and effective communicator that is self-motivated and confident in influencing to negotiate and deliver the right outcome for the environment.
We are particularly interested in individuals who have industry or regulatory experience within process industry, particularly from chemical, refining or landfill sectors. We are also interested in individuals with transferable skills in auditing, root cause analysis and knowledge of management systems.
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to secure compliance through virtual and physical means together with analysing and interpretation of environmental monitoring and performance data.
You will be able to demonstrate your practical operational experience and knowledge of environmental regulation.
You are experienced in delivering environmental improvements using a range of tools.
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with industry at a variety of levels and with a range of external partners.
A full UK driving licence is essential. You will also be expected to take up an appropriate incident management role.

You'll be able to work flexibly including some time from home, but will be based in Lincoln and will be required to undertake site visits/meetings etc to secure compliance in the wider Lincolnshire Area, and occasionally within Northamptonshire.
