You will help drive forward our rural resilience work (upland and lowland) for FCRM, supporting the Senior Advisors for Rural Resilience.

The post holder will:
1. Support the development and definition of the team’s rural resilience work.
2. Support relationships with rural resilience partners and stakeholders, including NFU and CLA.
3. Work with the senior advisors within the team to support work on flood resilience for the agricultural sector and rural areas, responding to priorities for the team.
4. Actively contribute to the running and development of the Natural Environment and Rural Resilience Team, and wider FCRM Strategy department.
This role sits in the Natural Environment and Rural Resilience Team, within the FCERM Strategy department. The department leads the implementation of the FCERM Strategy, has oversight of flood resilience and adaptation (inland and coastal) and coordinates partnership working with risk management authorities and other key stakeholders to deliver the strategy objectives. There will be opportunities to shape the team and wider department through contributions to its people plan and associated cross-cutting areas of work.
We are looking for someone who has experience in an environmental or flood risk background.

You will be well practiced in at influencing and persuading others in technical and complicated areas. Sometimes, these areas will be just emerging, and you will be comfortable working with uncertainties.

You will work with customers and partners to achieve significant outcomes for people and the environment.

You will have a good knowledge of the Environment Agency and be able to achieve shared outcomes across functions.

You will need to be able build and sustain relationships at all levels with the EA and external partners.
