We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and adaptable person to join the Lancashire Partnerships and Strategic Overview team. Leading on a range of activities in FCRM, you will develop an expert understanding of the flood risks in Cumbria & Lancashire. You will play an important role in identifying, planning and ensuring the delivery of capital projects in our Area. This post has a strong focus on Lancashire schemes, working closely with partners to better protect communities at-risk from flooding. Please note that all successful candidates will be put into an Advisor pool for future permanent vacancies in Cumbria & Lancashire for the next 6 months.

You will be a professional guide in the team ensuring we deliver statutory and key business responsibilities and enhance our reputation internally and externally.

You will also enhance the Area’s incident response capability by having an incident management role, related to Flooding and Environmental incidents.
Partnerships and Strategic Overview Teams work with Risk Management partners to design, develop and deliver flood risk management assets that enhance communities.
We compile, manage and use the best available evidence to inform our long-term plans and investment programme.
We provide advice on Flood Risk Assessments to influence the location and design of new developments.
We issue Flood Risk Activity Permits to protect the environment, prevent increasing flood risk and ensure adequate land drainage.
Through your experience to date, you will be able to demonstrate several of the following:
+ A good knowledge of flood risk and an understanding of natural processes;
+ Excellent communication skills and a great customer focus;
+ An ability to build relationships and work in partnership with other organisations, communities and internal teams;
+ You should have the vision and ability to work independently on problems to realise our wider ambitions for the environment;
+ Experience of adapting to changing situations and managing change.
Effective personal management and appropriate knowledge of Office Software
A valid UK driving license is essential for this role as it will involve travelling to sites and customer locations not easily accessed by public transport. At the moment, most of our meetings are run remotely, but occasional site visits to meet partners and customers will be a requirement of the role.

Full driving license
