We’re looking for 2 team leaders who will lead their teams to deliver our work, on time, to the required standards and in a life enhancing way for the team.
You will:

• Plan, monitor and control resources to maximise the efficient and effective use of people in order to ensure that all activities are completed to time, cost and quality.

• Provide advice and guidance on fluvial modelling and forecasting and help develop appropriate solutions to problems.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with internal/external partners.
• Promote and enhance Environment Agency goals and reputation.
• Participate or lead on national projects and working groups to achieve well-planned and managed integrated solutions that progress effective change and improvement in the organisation.
The team is part of the national Evidence and Risk (E&R) team, that provides expert analysis and advice to manage risk and improve resilience.

Our Inland teams work closely with a range of partners, providing leadership, technical expertise and specialist advice in river flooding and hydrology. The outputs of our modelling work is used in decision making for flood and coastal risk management including new and improved flood defences, land use planning and incident management.
You will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience working with, or an understanding of fluvial modelling work.
• Awareness of health, safety and wellbeing
• Excellent communication skills, ability build relationships, collaborating and agreeing expectations to deliver outcomes.
• Leading people to deliver a work programme.
• Leading and supporting teams, coaching, developing and nurturing talent.
• You are able to work under pressure and be skilled at making decisions and acting on them

• The ability to work collaboratively with other Team Leaders and Managers throughout the organisation.
• Good judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• You are able to think strategically, managing and prioritising complex programmes and resources.
Other locations may be considered on individual merit.

Remote working/meetings is the norm at present, but in due course you would be expected to work out of one of the hub offices.

The Environment Agency has an important incident management role and you will be encouraged to play your part in a way that fits around your work/life balance.
