We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual who is passionate about making a difference and delivering excellence to join our project and programme management department as a Project Manager.

You will:
• lead, motivate, and coordinate the project team to ensure outstanding projects are delivered to time, budget, and quality.
• be the main project manager on a range of low to medium risk projects and be a supporting project manager on our highest risk projects in the West Midlands.
• deliver the exciting projects right from initial strategic planning through to implementation, construction and delivery.
• have customer service at the heart of everything you do- your role is reliant on excellent working relationships in the project team, wider business, and the communities we serve.

This is a 12 month fixed term or internal assignment post.
Our National Capital Programme Management Service (ncpms) is responsible for delivering the majority of our important projects, mainly but not exclusively in flood risk management.

Your local ncpms team includes 50-60 dedicated and passionate colleagues within a supportive environment with a clear sense of purpose.
Your project team includes internal and external individuals and organisations working nationwide. Working as a team is very important to us and we recognise the value each team member contributes.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A positive, proactive, and hard-working attitude
• Passion to create a better place for people and wildlife
• Excellent communication and people skills. You will have led teams, motivated people to achieve more than they thought possible, and love delivering fantastic results through and with others.
• Good experience in project and programme management. You will have delivered fantastic projects to time, quality, and budget, within a challenging climate, and which benefited people, wildlife and the environment. Throughout this you’ll have role modelled high standards of health and safety.
• Proven successes coping under pressure and with change.
• Able to innovate and improve practices and procedures.
• PRINCE2 Foundation status or equivalent, or be working towards it.

Experience in contract and construction project management is desirable, but not essential.

Salary: £27,138 (negotiable for exceptional candidates).

Base location: Shrewsbury, Tewkesbury, Lichfield or Solihull. Please note, in 2019 we will be moving from our Solihull office to central Birmingham.
Regular regional and occasional national travel is expected. A driving licence is required.
