The main purpose of this role is to provide a business systems support and development service for our customers across the Environment Agency. As part of the Environmental Systems Group (ESG) team we ensure a first point of contact for our customers, and then work with IT and business colleagues, to ensure issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
The post holder will be required to contribute to the delivery of excellent customer service and provide administrative support to our activities and services. The purpose of the job is to:
• provide excellent people skills with a proactive approach to resolve IT application issues
• provide support to ESG Advisors to resolve system issues for the applications we support
• contribute to the delivery of excellent customer service and a comprehensive, efficient and effective role on the ESG Support Desk providing support and logging issues for system users.
The Environmental Systems Group (ESG) provides a business systems support and development service across the Environment & Business Directorate. We ensure a first point of contact for our customers, and then work with IT and business colleagues, to ensure issues are resolved quickly and efficiently. Working in ESG, you will be able to combine your skills in delivering work with your commitment to improving the consistency, quality, effectiveness and efficiency of our systems.
An advanced academic level would be desirable (A levels or equivalent).
Must be able to work on own initiative and demonstrate the ability to work flexibly within the service and across E&B Directorate.
Must be able to solve problems by considering different methods within the guidance of defined procedures and frameworks and deciding the most appropriate to use.
Ability to prioritise tasks effectively, meet appropriate deadlines, and be able to work as a team player.
Previous experience of working with Microsoft Office Software is essential and experience in a customer focused, service delivery role is desired.
Must have a high level of written and oral communication skills, being able to deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Ability to analyse and interpret information is essential.
