Carry out monitoring, survey work, and data collection to support the area environmental monitoring programme.

You will collect a range of samples from rivers, discharge points and other sites from multiple locations. You will work frequently on your own but will liaise regularly with your team, colleagues in other Environment Agency teams as well as external customers.

This is a practical post and most of your time will be spent in the field but you will also provide support in the office.

Some weekend and bank holiday working may be required alongside a flexible working pattern.
The Sampling and Collection Team are responsible for the collection of samples for statutory requirements. We deliver work across a range of disciplines including Chemical, Ecology, Fisheries and Groundwater. The team provides key data for various other teams within the wider business. The data provides evidence for the investigation of failing bathing waters, compliance under the Environmental Permitting Regulations for discharges as well as providing core data for reporting and investigations.
You will need to demonstrate experience of both team working and working on your own initiative in order to remain safe, healthy and well. You must have experience of handling data and information and basic IT skills, for example using hand held computers.
