This is a service management role that will play a critical part in the delivery of the Environment Agency’s Data Sharing services.
You will help manage, develop and take forward these services, engaging with internal and external stake holders and ensuring business requirements are met efficiently and effectively.

With a strong data management background you will support the linked data service in particular, and work closely with colleagues on spatial services.
You will provide specialist technical support and manage supplier relationships; scoping, specifying and implementing service enhancements; resolving technical issues; and working with Defra/other Defra bodies and others who use our services.
The Data Sharing & Access team is part of Data & Systems within our Flood and Coastal Risk Management Directorate, but provides cross-cutting services to our wider business. We are a national team providing technical services, advice and guidance to share our data and information in line with legislation. We support the business to deliver their outcomes and lead the Defra Group in Data Sharing Services.
Good service management and project management skills are essential
Customer-focused approach and ability to engage with the business are essential
Proven Data Management experience is a must, including data standard principles and data modelling
In depth knowledge and understanding of linked data principles and API’s is desirable but a strong interest to develop your knowledge is essential
Experience of spatial and non spatial data publishing formats is a must
Familiarity with Open Data/data sharing principles is desirable
