We’re looking for a professional and enthusiastic person to ensure that income is safeguarded. You will do this by assisting strategic portfolio work to enable accurate and transparent charging through our charge systems and services.

You’ll play a key role in supporting strategic programmes working on the development and implementation of business systems and the delivery of new digital services.

You'll develop your expertise in charge and payments along with developing relationships across the organisation, collaborating with the team and in strategic workstreams, to ensure delivery of solutions. You will manage and support delivery with stakeholders across the organisation.

We’re a dispersed team and work with a wide range of technical and project teams across both our internal and external stakeholders.

We use smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel, but some travel and overnight stays may be required.

You’ll have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan, so we’ll support you to find an incident role to suit your needs and circumstances. Appropriate training will be given.
Charge Systems and Solutions is a national team of technical experts and analysts. We shape, deliver requirements and the needs of our organisation in digital services and business systems.

We’re part of the Environment and Business (E&B) Directorate which supports the Environment Agency by using evidence, expertise, and innovation to enhance and support delivery, influence policy and secure resources. We steer the direction, set the priorities, and shape our organisation's approach to deliver environmental outcomes.
We’re looking for a person with an appetite to make a difference with the ability to develop into being a subject matter expert and the desire to challenge the status-quo

You will be able to remain positive and focused, even when there are conflicting demands, and have experience of: 

Influencing multi-functional teams to ensure delivery of business requirements. 

Building sound relationships with key stakeholders and working across different shared service functions and suppliers. 

Promoting, representing, and communicating the technical needs of our digital systems and business needs to a wide range of both internal and external customers at all levels of understanding.

Managing and prioritising conflicting priorities and solving problems. 

Translating business needs for delivery into our IT systems.

It would be an advantage if you have:

knowledge of finance payment processes and/or our Charging Schemes

An understanding of the principles of Agile Project working
