We have an exciting vacancy for an enthusiastic and passionate Business Change Advisor in the Incident Management and Resilience Digital Services team. You will be part of a small team supporting the delivery of digital products and services in incident management helping to reduce the impacts of incidents on people and the environment.

Your focus will be on the successful implementation of the Next Warning Service (NWS) which is replacing the current Flood Warning System for England. The Next Warning Service will provide warnings that inspire action, reduce the economic cost of flooding and increase the nation’s resilience to climate change. You will also be able to influence implementation across a wide range of innovative digital projects and initiatives.

To ensure NWS is launched and embedded effectively, you will:
• Help design a successful implementation plan documenting how the business will successfully adopt NWS.
• Identify, amend, and create technical documentation and guidance supporting the implementation and embedding of NWS.
• Play a key part in designing, developing, and delivering effective training to support the users of NWS.
• Support the confirmation of ownership and responsibilities associated with NWS.
• Work in partnership with the project’s Communication & Engagement lead to deliver effective messaging and build awareness of the new service.
• Support the Business Change Manager in all aspects of business readiness/acceptance of NWS.
• Help coordinate 14 Area teams to deliver business change activities on time• Plan/implement the successful launch of NWS within the Environment Agency.
• Support with embedding and reinforcing activities after Go Live.

Essential skills for a strong candidate will have demonstrable experience of:
• Delivering changes to ways of working within a business. Ideally this would be within incident management although not essential.
• Experience of designing and delivering training to a wide range of delegates using various skills, tools and techniques to ensure effectiveness.
• Skilled at quickly building relationships both within the immediate team and wider with stakeholders.
• Demonstrate skills in overcoming resistance and influencing people to work in a new way.
• Being self-led, tenacious problem solver who focuses on achieving results within a team.
• Working to changing and challenging deadlines with multiple workstreams and sometimes competing deadlines.

Business Change qualifications are desirable but not essential. A good understanding of the Environment Agency’s Change Method and ‘ADKAR’ approach to business change is expected.

Everyone starting in a new role will be welcomed into the team and given all the training and support needed to succeed.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

There may be occasions you need to travel, but virtual collaboration is the norm. Interviews will be carried out using Teams.
