To help manage our assets such as weirs, flood alleviation channels, temporary defences & flood defence walls to make sure they are operational ready at all times.

Prepare our watercourse maintenance programmes and support its delivery working with our field teams or external contractors. Project manage or support the delivery of projects to create, repair, improve or replacement assets.

Help ensure we meet our incident management requirements by supporting the development of our temporary defence deployment plans and take part in our incident management roster.

Support the team with customer enquiries and engagement across all Environment Agency teams as well as our partners, local communities and land owners.
We manage Environment Agency assets within the Lower Thames, Kennet, Loddon and Wey Catchments.

We programme and deliver watercourse maintenance in flood risk areas with our Field Teams. We ensure our assets are inspected, maintained and operational safe and ready.

We assist in the delivery of the Environment Agency’s capital programme.

We are seeking someone with a keen interest in flood risk and incident management. You will either have a formal qualification in an engineering or a related science discipline or sound working experience in this area. You will be skilled in project and programme management, have experience of contractor management and the ability to manage a varied workload that may have tight deadlines. You will be comfortable working with databases. Experience in or a good knowledge of the Construction Design & Management (CDM) regulations is desirable as you will be trained as a CDM Client.

Requirements for this job include excellent communication skills, a passion for team work and comfortable with problem-solving.

There will be trips to site as well as occasional trips to other offices and venues across England. Travel for work is paid for. A vehicle will be provided with the role.
