This is an exciting opportunity to influence the future environment of GMMC through delivery of innovative environmental improvement projects. We are looking for an individual to develop and manage a portfolio of projects including fish passes, river restoration and diffuse pollution initiatives. Our business model is a partnership first approach working with a wide range of third sector groups. The projects contribute to the achievement of corporate objectives for Water Framework Directive (WFD), Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) and biodiversity targets. You will work closely with Catchment Co-ordinators, Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) and Integrated Environment Planning (IEP) to ensure the projects you develop are evidence-led and meet Catchment Partnership priorities.

There are two posts available.

One of these posts is being made possible with the support of EU LIFE Integrated Project funding (LIFE14 IPE/UK/027). Therefore there will be a requirement to manage a number of Natural Course projects, for more information on Natural Course visit naturalcourse.co.uk
We are a small team of project managers, programme officers and Catchment Coordinators based in the Environment, Planning and Engagement (EPE) Department. The team was established to deliver the Water Framework Directive (WFD) programme and has expanded its remit to cover programme oversight of Water Resource Revenue and Capital programmes and the fisheries improvement projects. We are a friendly and supportive team with a good reputation for delivery and innovation.
The person we are looking for will have project management experience preferably in environmental projects. We are looking for someone with drive, resilience, and a passion for partnership working and delivery. We are looking for someone who works well with other internal teams and gets things done! You will need to have recent partnership working experience and be comfortable with initiating, influencing and developing projects from concept to delivery. Good knowledge of at least two of the following will be an advantage: Water Framework Directive (WFD), biodiversity or fisheries, and Flood & Coastal Risk Management.
The post is based in Richard Fairclough Office in Warrington. The role will initially focus on developing projects for future years and delivery of projects will be expected. You will be fully supported to achieve this through training and qualifications. Working patterns are flexible and the post is open to part time working and job share.
