The role is to provide technical support to our groundwater and contaminated land officers. It’s an important role as you’ll act as the initial point of contact for the team and will be responsible for managing and maintaining our data and information systems. The role will also include responding to information requests and providing technical advice on a range of groundwater and contaminated land issues.

You will be required to interpret technical reports, analyse data and make recommendations. You will use your technical expertise to ensure we make the right decisions in areas such as environmental permitting regulations, development control (such as planning applications) and in the protection of groundwater resources and quality across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire.
The Groundwater, Hydrology and Contaminated Land team provides specialist technical advice to a variety of internal and external customers on water resources, groundwater protection and land contamination issues across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire.
You will be qualified to at least degree level (or equivalent) in a Geoscience discipline, e.g. geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry.

You will have an understanding of groundwater and contaminated land issues.

You'll have good data management and communication skills as well as being organised, customer focussed and work well in teams. Proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) would be an advantage.

You will ideally have a minimum of one years’ experience.

The role will be based at our Warrington office but will require occasional site visits therefore a full UK driving licence is required
