We are seeking two people to join the main River Thames Asset Performance teams based in the South East of England, one based at Gold Crest House in Farnham and one at Osney in Oxford. The successful candidates will join our Upper and Lower River Thames Asset Performance teams to help manage the Environment Agency assets along the Thames. The role calls for technical support to help with business processes and systems which enable us to manage, maintain and improve our assets ensuring they operate as designed. Being part of Operations Management, the role will also include involvement in our incident management function.
The duty of the Asset Performance team is to inspect, build, repair and maintain the flood defence assets within our jurisdiction. The four AP teams in the Thames Area for example deal with the River Thames and the tributaries that feed into it. The Thames teams carry out all of the associated work that leads to the eventual construction, repair, clearance of vegetation and silt, around the locks and weirs on the Thames.
We are seeking someone with a keen interest in flood risk and incident management who has either a formal qualification in an Engineering or Science discipline or experience in this area. You will be skilled in using databases, geographical information systems, reporting tools and spreadsheet management. Experience in contributing to or delivering small scale project management is desirable as is a comprehensive understanding of the CDM2015 regulations.
