We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our Asset Performance teams in the East Midlands.
Your work will protect communities from flooding by developing and delivering programmes of flood risk asset maintenance work across the East Midlands. The work is varied, and your day to day tasks will vary widely. They will include supporting our team with planning and programming work, project management, contract management and management of minor construction projects.
You will engage with our customers and partners to provide great customer service and maintain productive and positive relationships with our own field teams, external contractors, risk management authorities (such as the local Internal Drainage Boards and Councils), local communities and stakeholders and with our partner regulators and advisors at Natural England.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in incident response and take a leading role in co-ordinating our field service operatives during a flood event. You will receive full training and support to enable you to feel confident in your role.
Our Asset Performance teams manage the whole lifecycle of our flood risk management assets, i.e. planning, delivery, maintenance, decommissioning. We are responsible for ensuring Flood and Coastal Risk Management assets are constructed, inspected, surveyed, assessed, maintained and operated in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
You’ll work in an experienced, diverse and friendly team, reducing flood risk for people and businesses across the East Midlands.
We are seeking someone with a proven track record of delivering projects, handling programmes, managing contractors and finances. You’ll also have experienced in building relationships both with the team and with internal and external customers and partners.

Most important is your energy, enthusiasm and willingness to learn and tackle challenges that come your way.

In summary you will have:
• Experience in programme and project management and/or asset management
• Have or be working towards a civil engineering/construction qualification or can demonstrate relevant experience
• Willingness to learn and develop
• Contractor management experience
• Appreciation of whole life asset management cycle
• Health, Safety and Environment knowledge including CDM regulations
• IT skills; Good office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
• Flood Risk Management related qualification and/or practical experience
• IT skills: GIS, Project, AutoCAD
• PRINCE 2

Two vacancies exist, one is based out of Owston Ferry Office (permanent) and the other is based out of Nottingham, Trentside Office (18month fixed-term post which may lead to permanent position).
