Do you want to make the world a better place? Are you passionate about protecting the nation against natural threats and hazards? We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and adaptable individual to join our Partnerships and Strategic Overview Team. You'll play a key role in establishing the feasibility of projects for the Flood and Coastal Risk Management 6 year programme reducing flood risk to communities. You'll strengthen the FCRM 6 year Programme by developing new schemes through initial assessment and feasibility stages. You'll also enhance the Areas incident response capability by having an incident management role
The Partnerships and Strategic Overview Team work with partners to implement the National Flood and Coastal Risk Management Strategy. We compile, manage and use the best available evidence through our mapping, modelling and data work to provide strategic direction and inform our long term plans and investment programme. We work with partners to plan and deliver future projects, securing external funding and ensuring efficiencies are made.
We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate:
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering on time, on budget and to scope.
- Excellent skills in economic appraisal / analysis, and developing concept ideas through options appraisal to viable Flood Alleviation Schemes
- Exceptional organisational skills and an advance use of relevant IT systems
- Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
- A technical leader who inspires people and delivers results through others
