We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our Synergy programme team. This is a unique opportunity to work on policy and system changes and the longer-term implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that will shape how we work for years to come. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Working closely with colleagues across the Environment Agency to understand how upcoming policy and system changes will impact people, processes, and systems.
  • Using a range of process modelling tools and techniques, mapping the ‘As-Is’ and ‘To Be’, including facilitation of workshops where required.
  • Supporting the delivery of change by capturing requirements, analysing impacts, and working with delivery teams to ensure nothing gets missed.
  • Getting involved in planning for our future ERP system, going live in 2028.

You’ll be part of the EA Synergy Team within the Strategy, Transformation & Assurance Directorate. The Synergy Programme is a cross-government initiative delivering the government’s shared services strategy; it will replace SOP with a modern platform and introduce new ways of working across various shared services functions.

We’re keen to hear from you if you can bring:

  • Experience gathering, analysing and documenting business processes and requirements.
  • Ability to support impact assessments for both policy and system changes.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships through effective communications, including facilitation of workshops to ensure delivery of common purpose and understanding of user needs.
  • Familiarity with supporting change and/or digital transformation projects.
  • Strong communication skills, able to translate technical or data concepts clearly.
  • Confident working with stakeholders across policy, digital and operational teams at a variety of levels.
  • Curious, organised, and good at asking the right questions.

You’ll have an EA Office base location. As this is a national role, the working location is flexible.

 We use smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel.

Some travel will be required, and this may occasionally include an overnight stay.
