We are recruiting enthusiastic Environment Management Team Members to join our Regulated Industry teams. You will deliver operational and regulatory services that are key to protecting and improving our environment.

The Teams regulate waste and industrial facilities to ensure compliance with the Environmental Permitting Regulations. You will support regulatory officers by carrying out routine interpretation of data and preparing reports, often providing the initial regulatory response. You will maintain excellent customer focus by ensuring the information you provide is suitable and correct.

This role is the corner stone of the team and is extremely varied, drawing upon transferrable and specialist skills. You can expect to be involved in the following:

• Essential support enabling the team to complete their duties
• Coordinating responses to high profile and sensitive environmental issues
• Recovering customer debt by providing advice on payment, or supporting enforcement/legal action.
• Taking part in incident management
• Records management of enforcement casefiles.
Our teams are responsible for regulating a range of industries, including waste, which involves the inspection of permitted activities, stopping illegal sites and investigating waste crime across our Area.

The role will engage in the delivery of operational and regulatory services that are key to the protection and improvement of our water, land and air. It will provide a comprehensive support service to the teams to ensure achievement of environmental outcomes.
Through your experience to date you will ideally be able to demonstrate some of the following:

• Customer service excellence is a vital part of the role.
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
• Delivery of work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
• Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve planned outcomes
• Excellent organisational skills and computer literate

Excellent communication skills are a must as you’ll be working with a diverse range of people and customers.

The key things we’re looking for are transferrable skills and capabilities, so do not be put off applying if you don’t have previous experience in this sector.
