Our aim is to ensure 'Right Waste, Right Place' and this front line role is key in helping us to achieve that aim. Typically the role will be acting as a technical lead for difficult/controversial notifications; providing technical support to Regulatory Officers in assessing notifications, providing advice to customers on EU Waste Shipment Regulation requirements and working with E&B to identify and implement new requirements and resolve specific issues. The International Waste Shipments Team, part of National Trading & Regulatory Services in National Services E&B, regulate and monitor the import/export of notified waste through England. We aim to disrupt illegal shipments and create a level playing field for industry, ensuring the right waste goes to the right place in line with international conventions.
The successful candidate will have the following skills/ experience:
• Proven experience of working in a customer focused, service delivery role;
• Good interpersonal and influencing skills demonstrating the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external customers;

• A record of adapting or improving ways of working to increase efficiency & productivity;
• The ability to interpret detailed technical guidance quickly and correctly;
• Educated to degree level or equivalent or experience of working within a related sector or as a regulator involved in permitting, regulation or site audits.
