We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and adaptable individual to join the PSO team. In this role you will build and sustain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders and partners working together to deliver more for the environment and to enhance the Environment Agency's reputation. You will secure funding for transformational projects that benefit people and wildlife. You will also enhance the area’s incident response capability by having an incident management role.
PSO work with Risk Management Authorities and communities to design, develop, fund and deliver flood risk management assets. We compile and use available evidence through mapping, modelling and data work to inform our plans and investment programme. PSO provide advice on Flood Risk Assessments, working with Sustainable Places to influence location and design of developments. We issue Flood Risk Activity Permits to protect the environment, prevent increases in flood risk and ensure adequate land drainage.
We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate the following:
- Excellent stakeholder, partner and customer engagement
- Politically astute individual with influential communication skills and the ability to build and sustain relationships
- A track record of attracting funding for large projects
- Ability to deliver complex work packages on scope, on budget and to agreed timeframe
- A leader who inspires people and delivers results through others
- Knowledge of another area of flood and coastal risk management (e.g. project management, planning and consenting, and/or mapping, modelling and data) is desirable
