We’re looking for an exceptional candidate with excellent communication, planning and data analysis skills to help us steer the work of our Area.

Working on a catchment basis, your evidence based advice will identify solutions to the environmental issues we face in the East Anglia Area, delivering multi-functional environmental benefits.

You will help us improve our understanding of the pressures on our water environment by identifying sources of pollution and effective measures to protect and improve their Water Framework Directive status. Building on your current skills and experience you will support our work on Price Review 19 (PR19), Protected Areas, provide advice and guidance to internal and external customers and respond to spatial planning enquiries.
We are a friendly and supportive team made up of environment planning specialists and officers who focus on water quality, water resources and river basin planning.

Working with operational teams and national colleagues, we collate, analyse and share data to produce environmental evidence that informs and drives area priorities.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of our business and environmental activities, complementing strong IT skills. Experience of using GIS, the Catchment Planning System (CPS) and water quality planning tools including SAGIS and SIMCAT modelling is desirable, though training will be given.

Ideally you will have a degree in an environmental subject, along with experience, or interest, in either water quality or river basin planning. You will be methodical and organised, delivering high quality work to defined deadlines.

You’ll possess proven ability and/or knowledge in the following areas:

We as an Agency take part in incident response. If successful your line manager will discuss arrangements with you depending on your role and circumstances.
