Want to help change the world? Water is the lifeblood of our planet and in these challenging times we need new and innovative ways of ensuring the sustainable use of our water environment.

Natural Course is an EU LIFE Integrated Project (IP) aimed at accelerating delivery towards the objectives of the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD). A large proportion of water bodies in NW England are failing to meet good ecological status. There are many barriers to improving water quality across the varied rural and urban landscapes of the region including those resulting from a significant industrial legacy, an evolving political arena, and areas of rapid economic growth.

The Environment Agency together with United Utilities, Rivers Trust, Greater Manchester Combined Authorities and Natural England are delivering the project. By listening, probing and constructively challenging, you will help identify barriers and while working with these partners and stakeholders you will put in place new and innovative ways of working to protect and improve our North West water environment now and in the future.
The Environment Agency hosts the Programme Office which consists of the Programme Manager (G7), Project Manager, Project/Monitoring officer, and Finance, Legal and Communication support.
The role requires you to be an engaging leader with the ability to share and influence, so an awareness of the work of the Environment Agency and its aspirations and achievements is essential.
You'll have demonstrable experience of delivering results through others, and be able to build a wide range of relationships with our internal and external customers.
