We are seeking enthusiastic Team Members to join our Environment Management teams. The Teams regulate permitted and illegal waste facilities to ensure compliance with the Environmental Permitting Regulations. We also undertake pollution incident response and investigation.

Full training will be given, provided through in house and on the job training, structured around a two year Business Administration Apprenticeship at Level 4.

Working with other departments, you can expect to be involved in the following:

• Essential support enabling the team to complete their duties
• Collection, analysis and interpretation of data
• Coordinating responses to high profile and sensitive environmental issues
• Taking part in incident management
• Records management of enforcement casefiles
• Providing information requested by internal and external customers
Our teams are responsible for regulating the waste industry, including the inspection of permitted sites, policing illegal sites and investigating waste crime across our Area geographies.

The role will engage in the delivery of operational and regulatory services that are key to the protection and improvement of our water, land and air. It will provide a comprehensive support service to the teams to ensure achievement of environmental outcomes.
There is no upper age limit for an apprenticeship.

To be eligible for the Business Administration Level 4 apprenticeship (the academic equivalent of a Foundation Degree) it is essential that you:
• Have a valid passport / birth certificate permit and NI Number
• Must have lived in the UK and/or EU for 3 years prior to apprenticeship start date
• The apprenticeship offers substantive new skills and knowledge in your new role
• Must not be undertaking another apprenticeship at the same time.

To enrol onto this Level 4 Apprenticeship candidates must have a GCSE grade ‘C’ or above in Maths and English, or the equivalent.

Excellent communication skills are a must as you will work with a diverse range of customers.

The key things we’re looking for are transferrable skills and capabilities, so do not be put off applying if you don’t have previous experience in this sector.
