If you are committed to protecting the environment, enjoy helping people and want a job that could lead to a great career, this role could be for you.
We are looking for someone who will provide excellent service to our customers, as diverse as the communities we serve. Ranging from members of the public, MPs, partner organisations and representatives of businesses and industry. The role will provide information and answer questions on all environment matters, and administration support to our Area Leadership Team.

As a Customers & Engagement Officer, you will be required to respond to the enquiries we receive, working alongside a team of experienced colleagues, who will help you learn about all aspects of Environment Agency work.

This is a critical role to ensure we meet legislative targets and meet the challenging demands we place on ourselves and the expectations of our customers. We need someone with drive, initiative and enthusiasm for the environment to help us create a better place for people and wildlife. You will be supported all the way by working with likeminded colleagues, and an organisation committed to your health and wellbeing and an ambition to make working with us feel life enhancing.
Our Customers and Engagement team works across our whole organisation to deliver excellent customer service to the Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Area. We manage a diverse range of requests from active and informed customers. The team plays an important role in managing relationships that are essential to our reputation and business delivery; and in providing support and guidance to our area teams and the Area Leadership Team including the Area Director.
Successful candidates will:

• Have strong communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of people.
• Be able to work at pace, and effectively manage competing priorities using good judgement and decision making abilities.
• Be well organised with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Have good attention to detail.
• Have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Be enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
• Be committed and motivated to achieve results and take pride in their work.

We are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve. We welcome flexible working patterns for all our vacancies, including job share, so please include clearly any information regarding your preferred working arrangements on your application.

Diversity: it’s in our nature.
