During this apprenticeship you’ll study for a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration and learn how to:

• Maintain a good customer focus and develop effective working relationships
• Use standard IT packages efficiently and learn to use specialised systems as required.
• Operate and maintain data and information systems effectively.
• Ensure records are stored accurately, are up to date and readily accessible to facilitate team activities.

Everyone at the Environment Agency has the same ambition: To create a better place for people and wildlife.

You’ll be working with experienced Administrators and be part of a wider apprentice community made up of individuals with different talents and abilities and of all ages and backgrounds.

Our ultimate aim is for a workforce that reflects the diversity in the communities we work with and the environment we protect.
Background and experience are not as important as your energy, enthusiasm and commitment, as the apprenticeship will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to be fully competent in this role.

However, to perform successfully in both this role and in the apprenticeship you must have:
• Excellent attention to detail and be able to produce accurate work.
• Good interpersonal, team working and communication skills.
• Good organisational and planning skills and ability to work to deadlines under pressure
• Maths and English at GCSE Grades A – C/4 – 9 (or equivalent).

If you are yet to take GCSEs but expect to achieve these grades in the summer, you may still apply
In addition you must be eligible for apprenticeship funding. Please see the Candidate Pack for further information.
This apprenticeship is for 24 months, starting between summer and September 2020.

Employees who successfully complete their apprenticeship, typically after 18 months, will be considered for permanent employment.

On completion of the apprenticeship, salary will increase from:
• £17,000 - £18,889

This role and apprenticeship are targeted towards people aged 16 – 24 but there is no upper age limit for these apprenticeships. Anyone who meets the eligibility criteria can apply.
