We are seeking an enthusiastic and self motivated person to join and provide administrative support to our busy Brampton based Environment Management - Waste, and Installation Teams.

Support to the two teams will include customer liaison, data management, record keeping, organising office space for meetings, booking hotel and train travel for colleagues and ordering and helping to manage office and field equipment. This support is essential to allow the teams to carry out their regulatory duties. The role may extend to support for other Environment Management teams in the Area in busy times.

Each of the teams this role will support is made up of a team leader and an Environmental Assistant who are predominantly office based and around 8 Regulatory Officers who are partly office based and partly field based - visiting the sites we regulate in our patch.
This role will be office based.
The Environment Management Waste Team carries out duties in relation to the regulation of the waste industry and incident management, and where necessary undertakes enforcement work.

The Installations team regulates a wide range of large scale industrial activities such as landfills, incinerators, the chemical production and processing sector, food and drink industries and many more.

Both cover a wide geographical area including Milton Keynes, Bedford and Huntingdon and includes urban and rural communities.
Ideally you will have proven administrative experience, be highly organised and able to deal with confidential, high profile, and sensitive issues. We will need you to provide information and advice accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.
We are looking for excellent communication skills, an ability to work to deadlines and be flexible and resourceful with the ability to handle shifting priorities. It is essential that you are able to work as part of a team while also having the ability to work on your own, dealing confidently with last minute changes. We are looking for a candidate with strong IT skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and Office 365.

A full driving licence is desirable but not essential.

There are fully funded opportunities to develop academic/professional qualifications and there is an opportunity to be included on the Apprentice Scheme.
Contracted hours is 37 per week. We will however be happy to consider applications from candidates who wish to work part time or on a job share basis. We are able to offer flexible working with start times of between 7am to 10am and finish times between 3pm and 6pm - to help people work flexibly around home life and other responsibilities.
