We're looking to strengthen our Asset Performance teams based out of Trentside Offices and Rothley Depot. You will play a leading role in planning the maintenance of our flood risk assets and take ownership for a geographical patch. Your enthusiasm and positivity will help you find solutions that deliver our maintenance activities.
You will perform an essential role in ensuring that people and property are protected from flooding by helping us take the right investment decision at the right time; based upon robust data and excellent knowledge of our assets. You will work in partnership with our Field Teams, external contractors, risk management authorities, and other partners to deliver improvements to our flood risk assets.
Your day to day tasks will vary such that you may be planning a construction project one day, undertaking data work the next day and liaising with contractors and local residents on another. You also have the opportunity to get involved in incident response and take a leading role in co-ordinating our field service operatives during a flood event. This is a hugely rewarding role that can provide a lot of job satisfaction and opportunities for professional development.
Based in the East Midlands, we manage our flood risk assets through all stages of the asset management lifecycle - from conception through to maintaining our current asset base to decommissioning assets. Our teams comprise a mix of civil engineers, data and technical leads, asset inspector and technical admin support. We inspect assets and develop work programmes in close collaboration with our Field Teams and other internal partners.
We're seeking individuals with a passion for asset management and a drive to better protect our communities at flood risk. We’re looking for people with project management skills and / or asset management experience, preferably with relevant work experience in the flood risk sector.
Ideally, you'll have an engineering or science background or be able to demonstrate comparable technical knowledge and work experience. Please don’t be put off applying if you don’t have a degree - we also value practical experience in the flood risk sector.
Formal qualifications in civil engineering, project management; data and information management (e.g. GIS); and experience of undertaking works in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 are advantageous.
Other key requirements for this job include excellent communication skills; proficiency in data and information management; undertaking work in accordance with health and safety requirements; team-working; and focussing on our customers and partners.
There are 4 posts available, 1 permanent and 1 temporary at both the Nottingham and Rothley offices. A lease car maybe provided for these roles on a business need basis as travel to site and across the East Midlands will be required. Additionally a full UK driving licence is required for all roles. We also expect all applicants to be prepared and willing to actively participate in an out of hour's formal incident role.
