This is a diverse, rewarding, and exciting role where you will be leading a team of professional and ‘in training’ surveyors, but, more than that, you will be part of the Estates leadership team, helping shape the future of Estates nationally. You will need to work collaboratively, recognising the skills and needs of others and using both your technical and leadership skills to help set the direction.

You will be key to shaping innovation and exploring opportunities to enable us to become more effective, consistent, and efficient in the service we offer to our colleagues and customers. To deliver the challenge you will find new ways of working, championing a ‘One Estates’ approach and embedding a continuous improvement mindset through your actions and leadership.

You will be a key part of the high performing Estates Leadership Team, jointly leading circa140 staff across the country. Estates plays a crucial role in enabling our Land, Property and People to support and deliver outcomes across the EA’s organisational remit. You will be leading a team of 22 professional surveyors, leaders and support officers who specialise in Environment Agency land, property, compensation, and valuation matters.
• You will hold at least one of the following qualifications/memberships:
o fellow of the CAAV (FAAV)
o qualified chartered surveyor (MRICS/FRICS) ideally in Land and Resources, Commercial or Rural.

Estates is a dispersed team therefore some national travel will be required. This role is in the South West & Thames hub where the team is located across several offices. Some travel will be required between the offices in your hub to support your team.

Full and valid driving licence
• You will hold at least one of the following qualifications/memberships:
