As FCRM Advisor leading on supporting Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFAs) and District and Coastal Authorities, the main focus for this role is to support the progress and development of flood risk management projects from conception to construction. You will be an integrated part of the LLFA team, helping to build skills and knowledge of Project and Programming systems and processes within the Environment Agency. You will support LLFAs and District Councils to ensure that projects are taken though the approval stages and monitored throughout their life cycle.

Other duties are likely to include identifying the need and opportunities to securing partnership funding, leading and supporting initiatives to identify new projects based on communities at risk from flooding. You work will ultimately help our partners to manage the devastating effects of flooding.

The role will be based at an EA office and will be line managed through the Programme team, but you will be required to travel frequently and work from the Suffolk County Council Office in Ipswich.

You will use your knowledge of Environment Agency processes and systems to expedite the progress of flood risk projects through to delivery.

This is a fixed term assignment until 31st August 2020.
Flood and Coastal Risk Management teams help protect against flooding and minimise the risks caused by floods.

As part of the Programming team you will monitor, drive and secure delivery from across the business. Working closely with the Partnerships and Strategic Overview team means leading with public and private sector partners to plan and help fund the creation of new assets that protect communities from future flooding.
You will:

• Have successfully delivered complex projects before, you’re comfortable working to tight deadlines, being organised and keeping within budget constraints.
• Be good at working with lots of different people - it’s important that you’re an influential communicator with the proven ability to build excellent relationships and deliver results through others.
• Be a technical leader who is conformable being relied upon as the ‘go to’ person for complex work area. Some training and coaching of others will be required.

A full UK driving licence is essential as access to remote parts of the catchment will be necessary.
