This is a fixed term contract position to 1st June 2021.

You will efficiently and effectively support our Project and Programme Managers on a diverse portfolio of projects. Day-to-day you’ll focus on providing a comprehensive administrative support service, ensuring an efficient way of working is in place to maximise our team’s delivery and expertise. You’ll participate in the development and delivery of team work plans, with strong technical skills using the Microsoft Office suite. You will also need to be familiar with common IT systems and have experience of finance systems.

As part of this role, you will be required to analyse data to produce management reports and recommendations, assisting senior management in making decisions. You’ll apply project management skills and knowledge as part of a large and dispersed team, to deliver complex and challenging projects for a wide variety of customers. In doing so, you’ll develop and maintain a strong customer focus to ensure effective relationship building and partnership working, to achieve environmental goals.

This role is based within our team at either Manley House, Exeter or Horizon House, Bristol.
Our valued Project and Contract Management Service (PCM) is responsible for delivering the majority of our important projects; from multimillion pound programmes to ground-breaking, award winning projects.
The National Programmes Team leads the delivery of a diverse national portfolio for customers across the Environment Agency and Defra. Working as a team is very important to us and we recognise the value each team member contributes.
Positive and proactive, you’re interested in project management and have a good academic background (A levels or equivalent). You’ll have strong organisational and planning skills and, ideally, some similar administrative experience, but if you don’t, we’ll give you all the training and support you need. An ability to analyse and interpret data is essential. A good team player with excellent communication skills, you’ll take pride in your work and want to benefit communities across the country.

Salary £22,792 (potentially more for exceptional candidates, based on skills and experience).

Occasional travel (regionally or nationally) and overnight stays are required in this post.
