Field Operations protect people and the environment by maintaining and operating our flood and coastal risk management assets and responding to incidents.
The purpose of this role is to carry out a range of activities supporting either professional or specialised business activities as part of a team or providing administrative support to the Field Team Leader. This includes:-
Collecting, compiling and updating information, such as timesheets, team competency sheets, expense claim forms spreadsheet, and monthly Ecard statements. Using this information to create effective, clear and concise reports, which support understanding and action.
Inputting, updating and maintaining data and information systems, ensuring that records are stored in accordance with records management guidelines. Such as hazardous substances (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) sheet updates.
Raising and managing purchase orders for service providers, personal protective equipment, clothing, IT equipment etc
Maintaining records for assets eg Internal Environment Management inspections and Site inventory and Site Environmental Management Audit.
A number of other duties dependent on business need (e.g. Recruitment administration, collation of active monitoring records, link with Facilities Management, point of contact for Customer Contact Centre, complaints and commendations, booking hotels, and other training associated activities)
The positions can be based at either Oxford, Sundbury, or Farnham.
Field Operations protect people and the environment by maintaining and operating our flood and/or coastal risk management assets and responding to incidents. This role is an essential part of the lifecycle delivery within the Asset Management model (link to institute of asset management), mainly administration for the “Operate” and “Maintain” components.
Requires a good level of literacy and numeracy skills, with Maths and English GCSE A-C, Functional Skills Level 2 or be willing to work towards a qualification.
Computer literate. Competent using standard IT packages efficiently to deliver work, with an ability to coach other team members on Environment Agency desk-based IT systems.
Required to organise and plan own work to achieve short term results.
Willingness to learn how to use specialised systems.
Have, working towards, or be willing to gain a Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 3 (or equivalent qualification)
Desirable (but not essential) for the Admin Team Member Grade 3 to have experience in Flood and Coastal Risk Management.
You should demonstrate a positive, adaptable approach and a 'can do' attitude as a team player.
