Working alongside Hydrologists, Hydrogeologists and Water Resources specialist colleagues you will provide technical specialist advice and undertake:

• Management of Environment Agency hydrological monitoring station network and assets
• Flow Modelling and Analysis
• Abstraction Licence Strategies and Resources Assessment
• Restoring Sustainable Abstraction – investigations and options appraisal
• Water Framework Directive hydrology assessments
• Appraisal of Water Company Management and Drought Plans
• Drought Incident Management
• Abstraction Regulation Management
• Planning application consultation
• Mentoring and development of team members
• Working with customers and partners such as water companies, consultants, catchment groups, developers,
Rivers Trusts, Natural England and the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology.
The Kent and South London Groundwater and Hydrology team bring together Hydrology, Hydrogeology and Water Resource specialists in an a high performing and professional environment. A population of 6 million and increasing growth in the South East continues to challenge the balance between the natural environment and resources, with the team being primarily responsible for regulating and managing sustainable abstraction across Kent and South London.
• Academic qualifications of minimum degree level (or equivalent), in a relevant environmental discipline
• Extensive Hydrological and/or Hydrogeological experience
• Produce and effectively interpret data to develop evidence
• Communicate across a wide network of audiences, having the ability to turn technical detail into compelling argument for the respective audience
• An in depth understanding of water resources management and regulation, as well as the wider Environment Agency business

The role will be based in Orchard House, Addington, West Malling, Kent ME19 5SH and interviews will be held on week commencing 19th February 2018. Fixed term contract ending 31st March 2019.
