This post sits within FCRM Department and will have a ‘hands on’ role in helping our Risk Management Authorities (RMA) in Devon to deliver the FCERM Projects they are responsible for as part of the current 6 year FCERM Programme. You will work with RMAs on a portfolio of diverse projects. You will have a lot of autonomy to support the development of projects and their business cases together with tracking project progress, working closely with the Area FCRM Programme Team.

Activities include; providing leadership and advice to RMAs to ensure their Projects are in a shape to deliver, including their funding, both from FDGiA and other sources; building and growing relationships with key programme and project management officers in local authorities; and make links with internal EA colleagues to facilitate projects with multiple benefits.

In addition, you will also be expected to deliver one of our Duty Incident Management roles
The role sits within the new RMA and Environment Project Development Delivery Team, part the Partnerships and Strategic Overview team in our FCRM department. This team focuses on the development and delivery of projects lead by RMAs and where nature-based solutions are the approach to increasing resilience to catchments and communities. Both these areas are key to the delivery of the National FCERM strategy and better protecting 314,000 properties between now and 2027.
We are seeking a team player who will have the opportunity to demonstrate the following:

- Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external partners and colleagues to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality RMA FCERM Projects.

- Has strong, effective communication skills (written, graphical and verbal) and a proven ability to work with others across external and internal teams.

- Experience of the development and delivery of FCERM Projects in order to support RMA delivery

- Good knowledge and experience of bidding for partnership funding

- Experience and knowledge of the 5 Case Business Case Model would be advantageous

- An understanding of the issues with RMAs that can impact the delivery of a programme of projects
