As an Estates Building Surveyor you will be an integral part of the estates team working directly with our assistant surveyors and senior surveyors focusing on our managing our residential portfolio. You will be MRICS or MCIOB with a minimum of 2 year post qualification experience. Whilst working in this role your work you will keep your days varied and interesting whilst building your knowledge and experience. In your role as an Estates Building Surveyor your work will include;
• Manage void works and minor refurbishment projects – preparing specifications, assessing tenders and monitoring the works.
• Act as liaison with specialist contractors.
• Oversee responsive repairs and statutory inspections service, ensuring it meets KPIs and delivers a safe and value for money service.
• Prepare planned and cyclical maintenance schedules
• Maintain asset register
• Undertake condition surveys
• Undertake site inspections and prepare technical reports
• Act as CDM client
Working as an Estates Building Surveyor in the Environment agency will mean that the environment will be at the heart of everything you do, your work will ensure that we maximise our financial profits and drive forward positive environmental outcomes for our local communities.
The Estates service extends to 114 people, offering professional support for Environment Agency land, property, compensation and valuation matters. We are core to the delivery of the Agency's £2.6 billion capital programme to better protect 300,000 homes. Our experienced teams specialise in negotiating access, dealing with compensation claims from land and property owners where they have suffered loss as a consequence of our work.
We also manage the Agency's landholdings, which extends to 26,000 hectares.
MRICS or MCIOB qualified, you will have at least 2 years post qualification experience and a proven track record of delivering results in an operational environment. You will also have a good understanding of planning, building regulations and health & Safety requirements.

You’ll be expected to travel to visit remote sites, so you’ll need a full UK driving licence. A lease car will be provided as part of your salary package.
