You will lead a team of project managers and support officers with various levels of experience; line managing typically 8-12 people; either Environment Agency employees or staff from delivery partner organisations.

You will manage day-to-day running of the team including performance management, recruitment, and succession planning to ensure a high performing team. You’ll be confident in escalating issues (complex technical issues) raised by your team. A strong problem solver, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the Integrated Delivery Team (IDT) adapting programme delivery when key issues escalate.
We are Programme and Contract Management (PCM) Team, creating a better place through excellence in project and programme management. Skilled in developing & coaching technical staff, managing performance, building inclusive relationships, resource management, embedding excellence, knowledge sharing with excellent communication and influencing skills without necessarily having technical knowledge.

Experience working with people at all levels, with different perspectives and drivers; ideally delivery partners or external organisations, building on shared outcomes.

Technical knowledge or qualifications such as project management, risk or change management, flood & coastal risk management, asset management, business case development, modelling & hydrology, data management (BIM), engineering and H&S would be advantageous but not essential.
