At the Environment Agency there’s so much more to our work than building flood risk management schemes or regulating industry. We strive to ensure that everything we do counts towards leaving a legacy to be proud of – for people, communities, and the environment – for all of us to enjoy and for future generations.

This Resource Advisor role will support key stakeholders in equipping their current and future programmes and projects’ people resources with the right skills, at the time these are needed and as efficiently as possible. This will be through gathering and interrogating resource data and working alongside and supporting others in producing local resource models and resource scenario plans, particularly related to capability assessment and development activities.
Additionally, you will be managing training budgets, scoping, and procuring training solutions specific to our stakeholders’ technical requirements and reviewing capability frameworks. An ability to identify key information and present this clearly and succinctly is also required.

We are looking for a forward thinker with a keen eye for detail who is an effective communicator, working collaboratively with key stakeholders at a range of grades, to ensure business requirements are met.
We are the Resource Planning, Assurance & Skills team, part of Portfolio Assurance, working with other teams across Assets and Programme Management and Integrated Delivery Hubs, as they help create a better place through our work in Asset and Portfolio, Programme and Project Management.
We support and assure the resourcing of our teams, ensure contractors are paid the right amount at the right time and support other teams with a wide range of other activities.
You’ll need a degree level qualification or substantial experience in a relevant subject. You’ll have an understanding of the P3O framework, in addition to successfully managing training solutions/capability assessments. You’ll have experience of a similar role, although this is not essential. Knowledge of developing/procuring/implementing learning solution programmes, including budget and resource management and work processes, would be an advantage.

You’ll need to be competent in using Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint, and demonstrable experience of undertaking and summarising statistical analysis would be an advantage. As such you must be highly numerate and enjoy working with figures to analyse, interpret and present data.

One of the following qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential:
• P3O Foundation – if not undertaken you will be expected to complete this as a priority in the role
• Managing Successful Programmes Foundation
• Management of Portfolios Foundation
• PRINCE2 Foundation or APM Project Fundamentals qualification
The Environment Agency are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce which reflects the communities we serve.

We will be holding interviews for these roles during September 2021 and more detailed information will be sent to the successful candidates.

We will endeavour to inform you of the outcome of your application at the earliest opportunity and we appreciate your understanding and patience whilst we assess applications.
